Cimarrón:

wild, untamed, feral

Expanding on Spanish, Cheyenne, and French etymology, Cimarrón encompasses a mindset beyond the intellectual, social, or artistic states of normalcy, the idea of the unique spirit that cannot be tamed. It includes individuals and collectives that resist the BAU model of life to instead carve out a world uniquely and independently defined, no matter how challenging. Always questioning and experimenting with what is considered the status quo.

Cimarrón Studios celebrates nomadism and personal, physical, and cultural design. Moving from place to place while seeking and learning from the outliers, those living alternatively and out on the fringe. It is is a studio and an ethos resisting the norm in order to explore experimental forms of existence and achieve sustaining and self-regulating autonomy.

NOMADITECTURE

A nomadic multifunctional space was needed to live and create while on these journeys.

Building out the 1973 Pinzgauer was the conception of a life-long passion for exploration, design, architecture, creativity, and collaboration.

On a journey fusing architecture, community, experimentation, design, art, nomadic living, and Schwarzschild cultural expansion.

Cimarrón Studios explores the curious dialogue and engagement between people, landscape, culture, society, economics, the built environment, and a nuanced sustainable and equitable balance of these intersecting layers.   Particularly found in the places forgotten or ignored by the constant progression of modernity: friction zones of chaotic potential that resist habitual order and creative stagnation.

This is a story of inspiration, experimentation, and collaboration. A journal of participation with those creators, places and experiences. The story is ongoing and has many contributors.
